Biography

Born in Kingston, Jamaica - Carl Ramesses McDonald's ability was quite evident at an early age. He represented his prep schools at various showcase competitions and was also an outstanding member of his church choir. At a very tender age Carl went to London: England to reunite and reside with his parents. With a well-focused mind to further his education: Carl was enrolled at the Belle School of Music &- Drama: where he learned to play the trumpet and studied acting. He also enrolled at the Linton School of songwriting in order to learn the art form of writing songs. During this time period: Carl played with many of the local bands on the London circuit: and also as an opening act for such names as Ben E. King: The Drifters: Jimmy Cliff: Georgie fame and Gino Washington: and Desmond Dekker and the Aces:(etc).

In the late 70's he enrolled at the famous Herbert Bergoff School of Music: Voice and Drama to learn and develop his skill of various art forms. It was during this time that Carl decided to form his own band by the name of High Winds: and went on to play at such venues as CBGB's and Max's Kansas City:known as popular clubs in the heart of New York City. High Winds success earned them the opportunity to open up for bands such as Talking Heads: Ramones: Blondie: The Shirts: which was considered to be a period of when Punk Rock first came on the U.S. scene.

Carl was beginning to get the national respect and recognition as his songs were been played on many college radio stations and local radio stations: plus excellent responses from stations around the world including countries as Brazil: Chile: Holland: Australia: Ghana: South Africa: Zimbabwe: Germany: Spain:Japan: and many others.In addition: to the musical accomplished Carl signed up with an agency called Romy in which he did some TV commercial and print work for several magazines. During the 80's Carl began to get more recognized by opening for known acts as Ink spot: Blue Magic: Manhattan Gill Scott Heron: Author Prysocks: Tito Puente: Eddie Palmeri: Steel Pulse: Third World: Toots &- The Maytals: etc.

In the late 80's: he moved to Florida where he continued to write: and record his songs and perform at various venues. In the early 90's: Carl became popular with thousands of fans at the first New York Reggae Beach Party series held at Steeplechase Park Coney Island. With other top Caribbean acts as The The Mighty Sparrow """"King of Calypso"""": Inner Circle: Sister Carol: Barrington Levy: Frankie Paul: Supercat: and many more.

During the 2000's: Carl has seem to garnered major international recognition throughout many parts of the world with his music now widely distributed from various resources. While playing the live circuit: working on upcoming projects: Carl has played for such celebrities as Woody Harrelson: TV talk show great Larry King:Donald Trump and many more dignitaries. Carl's latest rave review for his outstanding performance on Sunfest Music Festival: has gotten highlighted in Palm Beach post of May 5: 2002 along with great names such as Nickelback: Santana: Greenday: Earth: Wind &- Fire: Ja Rule: and Doobie Brothers. Featured opening act at Pro Players Stadium Sugar Bowl football on New Year's Day 2004:Miami:Florida. In a Sea-Full of Singers and Musicans,the name Carl McDonald stands out as an Authentic and Creative Musical Ambassador. His House Techno hit song entitled " I Believe in Love" released by Italian label Airplane Records went to number one on many Dance music charts,and is still a djs favorite in clubs & radio stations in lots of countries.Currently Carl’s House Music Version of the Legend Bob Marley’s Redemption Song,released by the popular Dance Music Label FirstPop Records in Verona, Italy has reached the top of dance chart of 105 Miami Network and has received good feedback all over the world for his beautiful rhythm, supported also by: Malvisi Network, Radio Company, Sintony, Kiss Kiss and more.
